(5) 라틴계 비교급

Superior to (~보다 우수한) inferior to(~보다 열등한) senior to (~보다 손위의) junior to(~보다 어린) prior to (~보다 앞선), prefer A to B (A를 B보다 선호하다)

 

(6) The+ 비교급, the+ 비교급(~하면 할수록, 더 …하다) The more you learn, the wiser you can become. →더 많이 배울수록 더 현명해질 수 있다. The larger the task is, the greater the difficulty is. →업무(규모)가 크면 클수록, 어려움은 더 크다. (7) 비교급을 강조하는 부사

훨씬 더 라는 의미: a lot, much, far, even, still

 

The object is much harder than it seems. 그 목표는 보기보다 훨씬 더 어렵다.

<Point 02> 최상급

(1) the + 최상급 + of ~/ in~/ that절 (부사의 최상급 앞에는 the를 쓰지 않는다.)

Sarah is the most diligent worker in her office.

That’s the best compliment that I’ve ever heard.

John runs fastest of all.

★원급으로 최상급을 의미 Nothing is as comfortable as your home.

★비교급을 최상급을 의미 →비교급+than any other+ 단수명사~

We offer more varied menus than any other restaurant in the city.

 

정말 가장 위대한: much the greatest, by far the greatest, the very greatest

(2) 최상급을 강조하는 부사

It was by far the greatest achievement in the company.

그것은 그 회사에서 정말 가장 위대한 업적이었다.

 

(3) 기타 비교 구문 (출제가 가장 많이 나온 부분) As + 원급 + as possible 가능한 ~한 빨리 We must turn in the report as soon as possible.
